Perform an internet speed test
You can test your internet at https://fast.com/. If you’re downloading under 20-25 Mbps, it's likely that your connection is not fast enough. Check with your IT department to be sure Mystery Writing is on the list of approved sites for your school.
Run a video test
When you run a video test you are testing to see if any of the sites we use to host our content are being blocked by your school or district. This isn’t an unusual occurrence, as most schools use content filtering or firewalls. The video test will show you which, if any, of those sites are being blocked.
- If nothing is being blocked, your results will look like this:
- If you see a red X next to one of the listed websites, take a screenshot of your results and reach out to your school’s IT department. They will be able to see which of our hosting sites is blocked, and then unblock it for you on their end. After they unblock the site, you should no longer have trouble viewing the videos.
